“Our emulsion is a water based residual spray that will not affect the colouring or finishes on any surfaces it comes into contact with because it is free from strong solvents”

In order to alleviate any concerns you may have when employing the services of our experienced pest controllers, please see the below answers to some frequesntly asked questions…

Should I empty my kitchen cupboards prior to your arrival?

ABC Pest Control will apply a gel to these areas which are often home to cockroaches.  We do not apply a liquid spray in these areas.  You are free to leave your cupboards as they are.

Will my household pets be affected by the treatments you use?

The safety of your pets is very important to us.  You may rest assured that the active constituent that they may come into contact with, either when it is still wet or by inhaling or ingesting, is minute.

What actions should I take prior to the arrival of my pest control expert?

We will need access to the room edges as it will be neccessary that we spray the skirtings.  We would require that you remove clothing articles, newspapers, childrens toys etc from the ground surfaces.  Items of food will also need to be cleared from table tops and benches.

Will the spray you use stain my carpet?

You don’t need to worry about any damage to the carpets such as staining due to the fact that the products we use water based.  They do not contain strong solvents that are likely to cause any problems for the colouring or finishes of your carpets.

Can the spray cause any problems to humans?

The spray we use is often used in public places such as hospitals and schools and causes no ill effects to humans.

Will I need to vacate my premises while you spray?

No you will be quite safe to stay at home while we carry out the spraying procedures.

OK that’s great but my child suffers with asthma. What precautions need to be taken in this instance?

In this instance we recommend that he or she is not present while we apply treatments but will be safe to return after 2-3 hours.

What should I do if I accidently touch any of the areas that have been sprayed?

This will only be a concern if the sprayed areas are still wet.  Should this happen, wash with soap and lots of water as soon as you possibly can.  After a relatively short period of time, the carrier, tap water will have evaporated and will not harm you in anyway should you come into contact with the area.

Will the gel that you use on the inside of my cuboards cause any contamination to the food inside?

We apply the gel only to places within the cupboard where insects are found.  This means it will only be applied to cracks, crevices and hinges.

Am I likely to see the return of pests after the treatment?

It is possible that insects such as ants, spiders or cockroaches may venture inside your property after the treatment has been completed.  However there is a very high likelyhood that they will have crossed treated areas and will die very soon afterwards.

How often should I call on your services for treatments?

We would reccomend that that treatments are carried out once or twice a year depending on the environmental conditions.

Should I wash everything once the treatment sprays have evaporated?

There is absolutely no need to do this at all.

I am about to have renovations on my property. At what stage of this process should I call on your services?

The best time to do this would be after the various tradespeople have completed their work and at least a couple of days before you move in.

I’m due to have my carpet cleaned around the same days that I have booked you to come to my property, what is the best way for me to arrange the two services?

The best way would be for us to come in to spray after the carpets have been cleaned or vacummed.
